Maestro Ilaiyaraaja paying his tribute to master composer duo Shankar Jaikishan on their songs composed for Pining situations of love. The song is: “Yeh Shaam Ki Tanhaiyan” from the movie “Aah”. One of the beautiful solos ever sung by Lata Mangeshkar.

Chris Cohen is a member of the band Cryptacize, an indie quartet whose recently released LP, Mythomania (Asthmatic Kitty). In an interview, he gracefully acknowledged that he follows Shankar Jaikishan music.
He tells, “… I really like Selda Bacgan, Fairuz, the film composers Shankar-Jaikishan, Group Doueh, Etoile de Dakar, the Pearl Sisters… we’re pretty much open to whatever is unique/exceptional… a lot of that music is older stuff….”
