By Ashwini Kumar Rath, Feb 12th, 2010
Written by Qamar Jalalabadi, this funny song from Basant (1960) composed by O.P.Nayyar contains the names of 4 music directors as well as the names of Rafi and Asha who have sung the song.

In fact, the great composer OPN paid tribute to SJ in a live TV program. He said Lata never sang for him but he was facinated by one song of SJ that Lata sang. Check this out:

SJ has scored music for Begunah (in which Jaikishan sang a mukesh song),Karodpati that were released in mid fifties. How come this movie is missed by many?
I faintly remember that SJ had composed with leading Egyptian of its time Ms.Nigarta, does anyone have any source of it?
There are many movies that have been shelved for various reasons and not seen the day like Watan, Waqt ka Sikandar, Bicchoo, Joker, Jugal Jodi, Engine Driver.
At least the producers or music companies can take initiative to release songs in a album.
I happen to VCDs of few SJ movies in Mumbai (Aas, which is the only source of their music.
