Jaikishan fell ill and died in the year 1971. In late sixties, Jaikishan was producing more number of popular scores compared to his senior counterpart, and was ahead in the popularity chart during that time.
With Jaikishan's untimely death, the Shankar Jaikishan brand received the fatal blow, and was not the same again.
